Club Rejuvenation

This year will see the club go thru a major renovation. Early march will see the inside of the club get a face lift with a new ceiling and plastered walls. This will make a huge difference to the feel of the club & are all looking forward to seeing the finished article. Along with these works will see major dollars being spent on an over haul of the kitchen. Bringing it into the 21st century. We have also put plans into the council for our memorabilia room. This will see all our trophies & photo's in the spot light. A great innovation to show off our 40 years in football.

Saturday Football 2012

After a meeting with FW CEO Peter Hugg thing's have become clear. We will not be playing Saturday football in 2012. At the meeting of  FootballWest board and the Presidents of the State League clubs, CEO made it clear that he would not discuss the matrix system, used to score clubs by, in public but would be happy to show club president Ken Shorto at  a private meeting. Ken visited the FW offices & walked out without seeing the scores. FW CEO instead gave reasons why the club was knocked back. Of the three reasons none seem to make any sence. Firstly was our league position, even though Quinns FC were below us in the table. Second reason is our junior numbers were down from last season. On this point we are astounded. Is it not part of FW fault? When they allow new junior clubs to form only minutes away. That the lure of playing for a junior club with Saturday football. The last reason is our club room. Although it is big enough FW have deemed it too outdated to be part of Saturday football.

Peter Hugg went on to explain that Balga were 10th out of the 11 clubs who applied. I for one am absolutely gutted with this whole process. It has been alot of hard work behind the sense from so many people & to have FW not evan have the guts to show this "matrix System" is an absolute joke. We the footballing family is what they are meant to be working for but it seems as though they are above that.
